The Soft Cyborg Manifesto
Our purpose is to maximize the expansion of human mental capabilities.
A soft cyborg extends the mind through AI, personal agents and non-invasive wearables. Devices, automation, productivity and scores are means. Mental expansion is the goal.
Article 1. Expand what the mind can do.
Memory, attention, understanding, reasoning, creativity, judgment—and turning intention into action. These are the capabilities we seek to extend.
Article 2. Extend the mind. Keep the body intact.
Wear the interface. No implant required. We choose expansion without cutting into the body.
Article 3. Think with AI.
Not just another app to open. Bring AI into the way you think, with personal agents connecting context, thought and action.
Article 4. Human dignity. Human agency.
A closer bond with AI does not mean surrendering yourself. The system serves your intent. You give it direction.
Article 5. Carry your life forward.
Preserve memory and experience through lifelogging. Build a record that future agents can draw on to understand you, rather than begin from zero.
Article 6. Your system. Your say.
Make the agent system your own. Keep control of how it is configured and what it does for you.
Article 7. Share the way in.
Turn your setup into a path others can follow. Share the steps, adapt each other's builds, and make the next person's start easier.
